You know that feeling when you meet with someone and instantly click? That certain sense of knowing that even with just a little bit of information, you get them and you know they get you? I LOVE those moments, and I certainly experienced one when I met my client and soul sister Tracy Hires.

I was drawn to her energy, enthralled in her story, charmed by her personality and hugely motivated to help her. As I drove out of the Dancing Goats parking lot with an ear-to-ear smile, I knew I would help Tracy build her decorating business, and I knew that by simply being herself and trusting me, she would help me even more.

BACKSTORY

Tracy Hires is a homemaker turned down-to-earth decorator motivated by a passion for providing beautiful interior decorating that doesn’t break the bank. After stepping away from her career to focus on her family and with her kiddos getting older, Tracy was ready to turn her long-standing dream of becoming a decorator into a reality but wasn’t sure where to start. And while her vision was solid, her confidence needed a little shoring up.

INSPIRATION

After being told by a fellow home pro that her house “felt like a hug,” Tracy knew she was ready to start her business and she knew that she wanted her brand to feel accessible, beautiful and fun. Upon entering her home, my vision for Tracy was as clear as the wall of shiny windows in her stunning sunroom. She gave me an HGTV-worthy tour sharing the stories of each treasure and ultimately her own along the way. Tracy is happy. Her home is happy. Her design aesthetic is happy, so Homegrown Happiness served as the heart of her brand from which every element was inspired.

KIND WORDS

No BS, grab a tissue because you’re about to read how Maggie and her company Moon & Magpie changed my life!

I would have never known where to begin, never understood the steps to take and never would have realized my dream without Maggie.

From our first meeting over coffee, me talking in circles and a mile a minute and Maggie furiously taking notes, I knew I had met the right person and fallen into the best hands possible to help me create my decorating business.

After that first meeting, Maggie followed up with me immediately to schedule our next meeting. She arrived at the second meeting prepared with a presentation that included everything I had conveyed to her and all she could offer to get my business off the ground.

Her presentation was easy to follow, broken out into different stages, detailed descriptions of each stage, timelines and the cost for each stage.  The presentation was unbelievable. I couldn’t believe she was able to take my ramblings and turn them into something so concise and beautiful…and she accomplished every single stage that she presented flawlessly and on time…even though I wasn’t always on time.

Maggie did everything.

She created my brand

She scheduled my photo shoot, which included a fabulous photographer, make-up artist, Prosecco and fun.

She worked with the graphic designer who designed my logo by communicating all of her and my ideas and edits that resulted in the perfect logo.

She worked with the web designer to create a website that represents everything I want to offer and who I am (on my best day) by writing the clearest, creative, clever copy.

She gave me step-by-step instructions on how to set up the “business” side of it, including bank accounts, credit cards, QuickBooks, Go-Daddy and certifications that would help build credibility.

And, she did a million other things I’m not even aware of so that she could be sure I was happy with the results.

Bottom line, Maggie took me and my idea, worked her tail off and created something I’m so proud to show to friends, family and most importantly, potential clients…and she did it with kindness, consideration and humor. None of it would have happened without her hard work and determination to guide me along the ultimate path to success.

I love Maggie Klein!
