Meet Beth Schiavo, CEO of The Gender Plan And Advocate for Women at Work
in an effort to nail An elevator pitch or make themselves marketable, service-providing solopreneurs often try to fit themselves and their stories into an expected mold. but A narrow niche is often the smartest business Move you can make, and a strong brand can be multi-dimensional as long as each offering shares the same heartbeat. My client, friend and wise Wonder woman beth’s brand is a great example of not breaking the mold but making your own.
Beth and I I had met a handful of times before she and I met up for tacos and to talk about her “third act”. Just as each time prior, I was impressed by her approachable intellect and passion for making the workforce work for everyone.
BACKSTORY
Beth is a big fan of unicorns, and when you get to know her, it makes total sense. An executive coach, connector, gender inclusion specialist and financial strategist who is as equally comfortable with a paint brush as she is a calculator, the convergence of her talents, experience and passions is truly magical and one of a kind. As a former CFO, Big 4 Partner and a working mom, she experienced first-hand the barriers women face at work, and she decided to pivot from her C-Suite role towards her passion with the launch of her own consulting business.

inspiration + APPROACH
Landing a brand hierarchy followed by a mission statement was top of the hit list. Beth came up with a killer name for her gender inclusion methodology, The Gender Plan. She was also pursuing an executive coaching certification and looking to keep her toes in financial strategy consulting. To establish a cohesive message, we built off of the word “plan” and “optimistic progress” drove the visuals including a warm, modern and feminine color palette that would standout from the sea of same in the HR corporate world while staying appropriately palatable. We built out her website using her name as the url with prominent real estate given to her hero offering, The Gender Plan. Drawing inspiration from the Time’s Up movement, her logo and sub-marks incorporate nuanced nods with the clock and equality sign.
KIND WORDS
“Maggie is a triple threat. A consummate brand strategist, writer and marketer, she quickly captured my vision and helped me plan, position and launch my third act. Equal parts professional and thoughtful, she delivered a smart plan, branding and website that clearly and creatively shared my story and set me up to launch my new business.”
